May 7th 2016: Makers Faire at the West Tisbury Ag Hall

It's the first Annual MV Mini Maker Faire this weekend - Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10am to 4pm at the Ag Hall in West Tisbury.
The website invites islanders to "Enjoy a great day of perfect Vineyard weather, arts and crafts, science and engineering, food and music, fire and water!" and promises to be " the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning"
I think its fair to say this island produces some highly creative, artistic and interesting people, so this first Maker Faire is sure to delight!
The idea of the Maker Fair originated in San Mateo, CA in 2005 and has grown to be a Worldwide event. With Faires happening in New York, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Lisbon, Paris, Rome, Singapore and Tokyo to name a few participating cities.
