HAVE A QUESTION?

Have a Question?

It's the final week to catch The Second Girl by Irish playwright Ronan Noone, at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse in Vineyard Haven.

At 12:01 this morning when most of us were sleeping, the much anticipated Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby kicked off over the island. Now in its 71st year, the Derby brings island sports fishermen, women and children together to compete in the categories of bluefish, bonito, albacore and bass caught from both shore and boat. An array of prizes will be awarded over the next month, including the grand prizes of an Eastern 22 foot bass boat, engine and trailer and a Chevy truck.

September rolled in with Tropical Storm Hermine and we concluded summer 2016, with a turbulent Labor Day weekend. We were treated to some amazing sunsets before the storm, Fridays being one of the most spectacular that I've ever seen. Then Saturday brought travel advisories that sent vacationers into a bit of a panic for fear of being stuck, and the Steamship Authority struggled to get people off the island.

Hillary Clinton was on Martha’s Vineyard this past weekend attending several fundraising events.  On Saturday afternoon guests and supporters of Hillary’s campaign for President, gathered at the Edgartown home of Frank and Carol Biondi.  Tea Lane owners, Abby Rabinovitz and Leslie Pearlson were there to witness Hillary speak and Leslie remarked at how Tea Lane Founder Eleanor Pearlson would have so loved to have been there:

As President Obama concluded his afternoon of golf at Farm Neck, the club was turned over on Monday evening to the 35th Hospice of Martha's Vineyard Summer Soiree. At the Tea Lane Associates table we had lots of fun at the live auction - no winning bids for us, but we definietly increased the sales price on some of the auction items!

Vanessa Williams, the Grammy, Emmy,Tony award nominated superstar who also happens to be a former Miss America will make her debut performance at the Perfroming Arts Center on Martha's Vineyard TONIGHT Saturday July 9th.  Tickets are still available at  http://vineyardbroadway.com  8pm and the High School PAC.

Next Wednesday, July 13th sees the 8th "Whatever the Outcome" event at Flat Point Farm West Tisbury.  But whatever is Whatever the Outcome?

The Vineyard light and topography has attracted artists for generations and we are fortunate to have an abundance of artistic talent here. Summer Sunday evenings on the Vineyard are best spent at one or more of the many Gallery openings of these artists. You can always check the local newpaper listings or notice boards across the Island to find out whats happening in the art scene here. But TONIGHT June 26th is a big one and we are spoiled for choice!

It’s not often you stumble upon a Japanese dance performance in the middle of Menemsha on a Monday evening!

It's very easy to become complacent living on Martha's Vineyard, you can easily take for granted this island and complain about its quirks and challenges, but when I drove up island today, first to meet a broker to preview this new listing on the south shore, and then to open up this house for a showing on Squibnocket Ridge, I was really overcome by how special a place this is. How lucky we are to live here and to experience all that we do in the world of real estate on Martha's Vineyard.
